Theme: Wild and Free
Textiles is a story that twines and sews with fibers, thread, feathers, beads, sequins; all in the nest of the birds resting place. I have no boundaries with paint I create in watercolor, oil, and acrylic. I use wood, metal, papier mache, paper clay, metal, wood and collect natural habitat forms. I gather sticks, flowers, pine needles, and other found objects to reclaim my story. Drawing with the earths dust in charcoal, pen, graphic and prism colors.
My muscle fibers that banded together scorched their extents- expand, contract expand, contract. With each fulcrum dripped in pain, I yearned to find the healing bark. My feet busted on the running trail to release freedom from my throbbing body. I will reform in nature again. I will win the fight with my muscle fibers. Running to the water edge, I see the ducks playing on top of the water they leave a trail of feathers. I capture the feather to sew into myself. The needles that bead this body you will wear a crown and your feathers again; you will be wild and free again.
